Following up on the second season that premiered on Netflix around the world on December 22, 2022, a third season has officially been revealed for the live-action Alice in Borderland series. So far Netflix has announced that Alice in Borderland season 3 has been green-lit, with director Shinsuke Sato (live-action Kingdom, Bleach) returning along with lead cast members Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya.
Netflix shared a teaser visual with the announcement. Shinsuke Sato said the series will depict “a new journey, one that absolutely no one knows, begins.”
The Alice in Borderland series is based on the manga by Haro Aso, which first started its run in the pages of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday S magazine back in 2010 before moving to Weekly Shonen Sunday in 2015 and ultimately coming to an end in 2016. The series previously inspired a series of OVA episodes, which are available to stream on HIDIVE.
Here’s how Netflix describes season 2:
Arisu and Usagi must unravel the mysteries of the Borderland in order to return to their world. Shifting from the shocking setting of an empty Shibuya in the first season, this season is set in a devastated Shibuya covered in plants. Don’t miss a second of this survival game packed with intense action and a thrilling story!
