The series may be just as popular as ever, but it’s almost time for the KONOSUBA light novels to come to a close. As revealed via the official Twitter account, Natsume Akatsuki’s series is set to end with the next installment—volume 17—which is scheduled to hit shelves in Japan on May 1.
The final volume of the main series will feature a cover by Kurone Mishima, and you can see the full illustration below. While this spells the end for the flagship KONOSUBA story, there’s also a new after story teased for inclusion in the afterword of the volume.
The KONOSUBA light novel series first ran between 2012 and 2013 on Japanese user-generated novel publishing site Shousetsuka ni Narou. The revised print edition has been coming out via the Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint since 2013, and has had over nine million copies printed since.
