Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine Edge to End Publication

shonen magazine edge

Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine Edge manga magazine has been around since September 2015, but it’s time on shelves is getting ready to come to an end. The official website announced that Shonen Magazine Edge will cease publication with its November issue, which launches in Japan on October 17.

As for where the manga within its pages will land, some of them will move to Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app, while others will move to other publications that are deemed a good fit. More information on the serializations will be announced in the final issue.

Some of the manga that has graced the pages of Shonen Magazine Edge includes Shaman King The Super Star, Hypnosis Mic, Otaku Elf, My Dear Friend Nokotan and more. The magazine’s name refers to its goal of publishing work “at the extreme exterior of the ‘Magazine’ group.” Editor-in-chief duties fell to Fumio Osano, who previously edited Naoko Takeuchi’s Sailor Moon and Codename: Sailor V manga, as an example.
