Kadokawa has established a new studio that’s almost ready to start operating within the anime business, and this one will be its fifth overall. Kadokawa announced the formation of Bellnox Films, a new animation production house that’s aiming to get to work starting on July 1, 2024.
Former Gonzo head and former david production president Koji Kajita is in place as the representative director and president of Bellnox Films. Kajita said he wants to work toward allowing the animation production industry to grow flexibly through more systemic and rational operations.
The announcement also states that Bellnox will strive to evolve the industry without limits based on traditional production methods and job titles, thus incorporating a “new production style.”
ENGI, Studio KADAN, Raging Bull and the affiliated Kinema Citrus make up Kadokawa’s other anime production studios.
We’ll have to wait and see what the team at Bellnox Films cooks up first.
