Joker Game Anime Teased

Koji Yanagi’s World War II mystery novel Joker Game is getting an anime, with Production I.G handling the adaptation. Yanagi’s novel won the Mystery Writers of Japan Award as well as the Yoshikawa Eiji Prize for New Writers, and the anime version puts Kazuya Nomura (2015 Ghost in the Shell anime movie) in the director’s chair, with Shiro Miwa (Dogs manga) on character designs.

Three sequel novels were eventually released, including Double Joker, Paradise Lost, and Last Waltz. The original novel follows Lieutenant Colonel Yūki, who forms the “D Agency” and recruits agents to follow his unorthodox tenets and take on missions against powers both foreign and domestic.
