The manga In the Clear Moonlit Dusk (a.k.a. Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki in Japanese) will soon have an anime adaptation! It’ll arrive in January 2026, and in the meantime we have some info on the cast and crew, plus a visual.
Here is our first visual look at the anime:
The two lead actors were announced: Rei Ichinomiya (who has had small roles in Beheneko: The Elf-Girl’s Cat is Secretly an S-Ranked Monster! and Duel Masters LOST Tsuioku no Suishō) plays Yoi Takiguchi, and Ryōta Suzuki (Junichi Wanima in BLUELOCK) plays Kohaku Ichimura.
The series is being made at East Fish Studio with Yūsuke Maruyama, who has many episode director and production credits, helming the project as the director. The series composition is being handled by Ayumu Hisao of Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life. The music is being composed by Tsubasa Ito, whose credits include I May Be a Guild Receptionist. Credit for character design goes to Yuki Fukuda, known for working on Insomniacs After School.
Kodansha USA Publishing is releasing the original manga by Mika Yamamori in English, and gave this description for the plot:
In the Clear Moonlit Dusk Plot
Yoi Takiguchi has long legs, a deep voice, and a handsome face…in other words, Yoi is such a good-looking guy that most people don’t notice or care that she is, in fact, a girl. Indeed, she’s had the nickname “Prince” as long as she can remember. That is, until she met Ichimura-senpai…the only person who’s really seemed to see her for herself. To her surprise, she’s not sure how to handle this new relationship, especially when her newfound friend is a prince himself (and a guy prince, at that). The story of the two high school princes starts here!
The 2023 guidebook Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (translated as This Manga Is Amazing!) put In the Clear Moonlit Dusk in eleventh place for shojo manga.
