All the excitement around Imagi’s upcoming Astro Boy feature aside, it looks like the studio is going to need some more backing before they can move on with their other planned projects based on Japanese properties, like Gatchaman and Tetsujin 28. We’ve had a quick peek at the former before, but the latter has yet to materialize prior to this year.
Now Imagi is ready to give us all a peek at what we might expect from a CG Tetsujin 28 movie based on Mitsuteru Yokoyama‘s original manga. The brief video (embedded below) serves as a proof of concept to attract backers and rights holders, giving a very impressive gander at what they’re aiming for with the project. Keeping that in mind, nothing you see here is remotely finalized, but for my money it already looks better than Shin Togashi’s glacial 2005 live-action adaptation (even with the sort of off-putting realistic style humans). Check it out and let us know what you think.
