I Am a Hero Live-Action Trailer Packs Zombie Punch

I Am a Hero, Kengo Hanazawa’s manga about one man’s fight for life in a zombie apocalypse, is getting a live-action adaptation, and the first trailer has hit the net today.

The film, which debuted earlier this year at the Sitges Fantastic Film Festival, is directed by Shinsuke Sato, who also directed the live-action Gantz films and the upcoming Death Note 2016.

I Am a Hero, written by Boys on the Run’s Kengo Hanazawa, is about a 35-year old manga assistant with low self-esteem who finds himself struggling to stay alive during a zombie outbreak. In the film, he’s played by Yo Oizumi (voices in Boy and the Beast, Howl’s Moving Castle).

The film hits Japanese theaters April 23, 2016.

The I Am a Hero manga will be released in the U.S. by Dark Horse starting next April.
