You may have seen the My Hero Academia anime film, but did you really feel it? My Hero Academia: Two Heroes eventually went on to land as the tenth highest grossing anime film in the U.S., and now it’s getting another chance to shine in Japan. Limited 4D screenings are planned for select theaters, with the 4D PLUS ULTRA Screening event set to kick off on January 11, 2019.
4D screenings typically incorporate in-theater effects, from special lighting to temperature changes, seat movement, and beyond. Here’s a message from My Hero Academia author Kohei Horikoshi about the screenings:
“Not satisfied even with the big hit that was more than expected, the film will also get 4D screenings! It’s all thanks to everyone who watched the film and the anime production staff members. I think the 4D screenings will give so much presence that can be tasted only there to those who already saw the film and who ignored it thinking, it was not worthy. If you have extra time and money, please try it! The climax’s edge may have more ‘Plus Ultra’ power!”
