It’s hard to believe, but as of August 31, 2017, Vocaloid superstar Hatsune Miku will be a decade old. The synthesized voice we’ve come to know and love was created using samples of Saki Fujita’s singing, and was originally released in the Vocaloid2 Character Vocal Series software package in 2007.
A countdown is now underway thanks to Piapro’s newly launched anniversary website, which currently has us sitting at 232 days to go. The site promises that “a new beginning for ‘HATSUNE MIKU’ starts here,” so we’ll have to see what goes down once we officially hit the 10th anniversary milestone.
