Earlier this month Crunchyroll announced plans to bring a trio of new anime films to cinemas in North America and international regions, including Haikyu!!: The Dumpster Battle, BLUE LOCK THE MOVIE -EPISODE NAGI-, and OVERLORD: The Sacred Kingdom. The first of two Haikyu!! movies is set to premiere in English on May 30, and ahead of that we can see a new English-subtitled trailer below.
The Haikyu!! manga debuted in 2011 and quickly found a large following. In addition to the anime series and these movies, the franchise includes compilation anime movies, a short done in clay, video anime, and more than one stage play. The anime series debuted in 2014, three years after the manga, and was created by Production I.G.
Haikyu!!: The Dumpster Battle first opened in Japan on February 16, and here’s how Crunchyroll describes it:
Shoyo Hinata joins Karasuno High’s volleyball club to be like his idol, a former Karasuno player known as the “Little Giant.” But, Hinata soon finds that he must team up with his middle school nemesis, Tobio Kageyama. Their clashing styles turn into a surprising weapon, but can they beat their rival Nekoma High in the highly anticipated “Dumpster Battle,” the long awaited ultimate showdown between two opposing underdog teams?
