Yoshiyuki Tomino has set himself up in the history books as the creator of the iconic franchise Mobile Suit Gundam. But the 79-year-old is not ready to retire yet!
He was recently on the Japanese TV show Hayashi Osamu no Ima Deshо! Kоza where he was asked about his opinions on current anime.
“Giant robot shows are for kids, but while I’m alive and can make new works, I’ll crush Demon Slayer and Evangelion,” he answered. “If I didn’t think that ambitiously, I wouldn’t be making TV anime past the age of 80.”
You can watch him make this comment (in Japanese, of course) here:
Whatever Tomino makes next, we wish him great success!
