Grave Digging Goes Moe in Sunday Without God Anime

An anime adaptation of fantasy light novel series Kami-sama no Inai Nichiyoubi (A Sunday without God)—an award-winning series written by Kimihito Irie and illustrated by Shino—is getting ready to kick off in Japan this July. Thus, it’s time for a new set of promos for the upcoming series.

Yuuji Kumazawa (The Ambition of Oda Nobuna) directs the anime, with Tomoko Konparu (Chi’s Sweet Home, Kimi ni Todoke, NANA) on series composition and Shinichi Miyamae on character designs.

The story follows Ai, a young village gravekeeper in charge of preparing 47 graves for the eventual deaths of all the villagers. Since God abandoned the world on Sunday, however, nobody in the world can die or reproduce. That changes when a boy named Hampnie Hambart, AKA The “Man-Eating Toy,” shows up and slaughters everyone.
