The WWII-inspired ship girls of the Kantai Collection/KanColle web browser game are about to get another shot at small screen stardom thanks to a new TV anime. The new series was revealed along with a teaser promo at the KanColle Chinjufu New Year Jazz Festival 2019 at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan this week, and anime studio ENGI is on production.
Beyond the involvement of 2D/3D studio ENGI, who will be working in cooperation with KADOKAWA, there isn’t much more to go on as far as details are concerned. We do know, however, that doujin circle C2 Kikan will be providing the story.
KanColle was previously adapted into a 12-episode TV anime and an anime film by Diomedéa.
