The manga Magilumiere Co. Ltd. by Sekka Iwata and Yū Aoki is getting an anime adaptation scheduled to come out next year! A 41-second trailer shared the news.
The anime is being made at Moe and J.C. Staff, with Masahiro Hiraoka — who previously did CG direction for the second One-Punch Man television anime — helming the project as director. The person in charge of both writing and supervising the series scripts is Shingo Nagai of Uma Musume Pretty Derby Season 3 and Girly Air Force.
Credit for character design goes to Hidehiro Asama. Sound production is being handled by Masafumi Mima. The music is being composed by Makoto Miyazaki, who is known for working on One-Punch Man and SPY × FAMILY.
We also know a little bit about the cast: Fairouz Ai plays Kana Sakuragi, and Yumiri Hanamori plays Hitomi Koshigaya.
The original manga is being published in English by MANGA Plus, and here is an official description for the plot:
“Magical Girl”? A profession that undertakes the work of exterminating a kind of natural disaster called “Kaii.” Kana Sakuragi, a female college student who struggles with job hunting, is picked up by a magical girl startup company and…?! Magical Girl work-life starts now!
The manga series debuted in October 2021 on the Shonen Jump+ service. It’s been doing well, and the ninth volume was released in Japan last month by SHUEISHA.
VIZ Media is scheduled to come out with it under a slightly different title — Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. — next year, and they gave this description:
Kana Sakuragi is an excellent candidate for the job. Any job! She’s motivated and organized, and has a fantastic memory. So why has she interviewed at over 15 companies without receiving a single offer? She’s trying to keep a positive attitude, but it seems like her bad luck is only getting worse when a monster crashes her latest interview. As havoc ensues, she finds herself helping the magical girl who comes to their rescue and ends up with more than just her life in return. Meet the newest magical girl at Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc.!
