Everyone needs a well-choreographed dance they can bust out at a summer festival in Japan, and what better song to serve as the backdrop than Neon Genesis Evangelion‘s “Cruel Angel’s Thesis” theme? A new version, “Cruel Angel’s Thesis MATSURI SPIRIT,” was recently released with some powerful taiko drum flavoring, and KING AMUSEMENT CREATIVE’s official YouTube channel shared a nine-minute dance choreography video to get everyone moving to the rhythm.
The vocals of Evangelion OP singer Yoko Takahashi remain intact in the Matsuri Spirit version of the song, and Takahashi plans to participate in festivals this summer to perform it. First up is Aomori Nebuta Festival from August 2-7, followed by Nakano Station Front Big Bon Dance Contest on August 11.
