Funimation Rescues Excel Saga, Other ADV Licenses

Ah, Excel Saga. I have a love/hate relationship with the series, because while I loved and watched the whole thing, I was never not aware of how grating it could get. Still, good memories in general, and Funimation will be supplying it to fans and newcomers alike now that they’ve acquired the license.

The 1999 adaptation of Koushi Rikudou’s manga is but one of three titles they’ve nabbed that used to belong to ADV films. The other two are Noir and Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040. Though this is just one man’s humble opinion, I’ll gladly go on record to state that the best part of BGC 2040 is the theme song. What say you?

Funimation will bring all three titles to North America in 2011.
