FUNimation Launches on Hulu

Ah, Hulu. At first I was scared of you and your vast expanse of readily available media. Maybe it was the high quality video, which burned my YouTube-weened eyes so harshly. Maybe it was all of the bad SNL links people kept sending me. Whatever it was, I’ve long since gotten over my initial hangups, recognizing you for the fine media portal you are. It appears that, like many other distributors, FUNimation has also recognized your worth, launching their own channel in your hallowed halls.

With that in mind, you can go ahead and start enjoying series from FUNimation’s wide stable. According to their press release, “In the following months, viewers can go to www.hulu.com to access nearly 150 episodes and approximately 75 hours of free on-demand programming from FUNimation Entertainment’s library. Additional content will be added on a monthly basis.” Sounds like a good way to fill in any missing pieces of your episode collection if you came into a series late, or dig into something new that you haven’t had a chance to try out yet.

When FUNimation made the announcement at the tail end of last week, they were just adding episodes of Shuffle, Peach Girl, and Slayers to the mix, so head on over and start watchin’ some anime. And no complaining about dubs allowed, gift horse and all that.
