If watching the BLUELOCK anime is making you want to play soccer, and if you live in the LA area (or are able to travel there), then you might want to check out a special upcoming tournament being brought to fans by Crunchyroll, Saturdays Football, and the LA Galaxy. It will take place this Saturday, March 25, at the Galaxy Park complex in Carson, California, below Los Angeles.

The event doesn’t cost anything, but you have to RSVP beforehand with EventBrite, and you have to be at least 18-years-old to participate. EventBrite gave this description for the event:

“The tournament will follow ‘King of the Court’ rules. There will be ten 3v3 games playing simultaneously. Each game will be played for 4-minute intervals with 1-minute breaks on all fields for 90 minutes.

The winning team of each game will advance to the next field until they reach one of the two top fields. Losers will move down to the bottom fields and work their way back up.

The two teams that win at the top fields by the end of the 90 minutes will play against each other in the final match for the grand prize! The losing teams from the top fields will play for 3rd and 4th place.

Want to come just to enjoy the spectacle? That is totally fine! Great soccer deserves a great audience.”

Whoever gets the grand prize will receive a “BLUELOCK x Saturdays Football x LA Galaxy Prize Pack.” Everyone who takes part is entitled to a Crunchyroll membership free trial. There will be second event like this in Dallas.

Kodansha gave this description of the original manga:

“After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s team struggles to regroup. But what’s missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win. The Japan Football Union is hell-bent on creating a striker who hungers for goals and thirsts for victory, and who can be the decisive instrument in turning around a losing match…and to do so, they’ve gathered 300 of Japan’s best and brightest youth players. Who will emerge to lead the team…and will they be able to out-muscle and out-ego everyone who stands in their way?”
