Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199, the latest in a long time of Space Battleship Yamato remakes, is on the way. The first part of Rebel 3199 is set to hit theaters in Japan on July 19, 2024.
We’ve also got our first glimpse at what it’ll look like via a poster and teaser video.
Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199 will ultimately be made up of seven cinema releases, which will also be split into 26 TV episodes, if we’re interpreting things correctly. That’s the same as Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love, which also had seven films split into a 26-episode TV version. The first Rebel 3199 film is entitled Kuro no Shinryaku, or Dark Invasion.
The series is directed by Naomichi Yamato (From the New World), whose last name is, well, pretty appropriate. Studio Mother is handling animation.
