Evangelion Crayfish Models Are a Thing, Because Merchandising Has No Limits

evangelion crayfish

Hideaki Anno’s Evangelion series has run the gamut when it comes to cross-promotions and merchandising, but the latest really takes the cake. You can now get plastic crayfish models—which isn’t that weird in and of itself, we suppose—with the added bonus of having them decked out in color schemes inspired by Eva Unit 1 and Eva Unit 2.

Designed by Fujimi Mokei, the Evangelion crayfish are part of the Free Study Series line and come pre-painted but unassembled. Based on the American variant of the species, the models are 23cm long, 14cm wide, and 6cm tall.

If you want to add these to your shelf—or your aquarium—they can be yours for ¥5,280 (about US$48), with shipping scheduled for October.
