Dragon Ball Daima begins on October 11, and Crunchyroll will be streaming the Japanese version simultaneously with its release in Japan. For people wanting info on the dub, we finally know some details. The English dub will receive a theatrical world premiere, because Toei Animation and Fathom Events are putting it on the big screen in America! Along with sharing this news, Toei Animation posted an English dubbed trailer.
Dragon Ball Daima English Dub Trailer
The theatrical release will consist of the first three episodes, and it will only be available in theaters from November 10-12, so this is a pretty limited time event.
The announcement did not share when the English dub will become available on Crunchyroll.
Yoshitaka Yashima, who was key animator for Dragon Ball Z: Cooler’s Revenge, has taken the director’s seat for Dragon Ball Daima, alongside Aya Komaki, One Piece’s series director. The person handling series scripts is Yuuko Kakihara, who has worked on the Digimon Adventure franchise, Cells at Work!, and the 2022 Urusei Yatsura anime.
All this stuff with Dragon Ball Daima also coincides with the fortieth anniversary of the Dragon Ball manga launch.
Crunchyroll gave this description for the anime, which has an original story and is not based on stuff already in the manga:
Dragon Ball Daima Plot
Dragon Ball DAIMA: Due to a conspiracy, Goku and his friends are turned small. What sort of adventure awaits Goku, Supreme Kai, and the new characters Glorio and Panzy in this unknown world, the “Demon Realm”?
While there might be some overlap with the Dragon Ball GT series, we’ve been assured that this series will be quite different. It also hypes up that original creator Akira Toriyama was heavily involved with Dragon Ball Daima, though Toriyama’s recent and unexpected death does leave a lot of questions about where the series will head now that he’s gone.
