The latest issue of Shueisha’s V-Jump magazine has revealed the main staff behind the upcoming Dragon Ball Daima anime. The return of a young Goku will be spearheaded by Yoshitaka Yashima, who previously worked as animation director on the likes of Dragon Ball Super and Digimon, and Aya Komaki, credited as One Piece series director, among other projects.
As promised, series creator Akira Toriyama is heavily involved, as well, handling original character designs and the new story. Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru (Dragon Ball Z) is adapting Toriyama’s character designs, and Yuuko Kakihara (Digimon Adventure tri.) is both writing and supervising scripts for the anime.
Dragon Ball Daima was first revealed in October during a New York Comic Con panel. The series sees Goku, Vegeta, Bulma and other characters becoming younger in a plot that isn’t to be confused with the early Dragon Ball GT anime. Daima is currently eyeing a premiere sometime in fall 2024.
