One of the readers over at Same Hat did some Detective Conan work on Amazon and dug up a juicy 2010 release from Drawn & Quarterly. The publisher will be putting out Yoshihiro Tatsumi’s Black Blizzard (Kuroi Fubuki), the publication of which was featured in Tatsumi’s autobiographical tome, A Drifting Life.
Black Blizzard was Tatsumi’s first published full graphic novel in the 50s, making this release something really special. The story follows a 24-year-old pianist, Susumu Yamaji, who is arrested for murder and handcuffed to a career criminal on a train headed for prison in the middle of a blinding blizzard.
The graphic novel is set for April 27, 2010. It will be a 144-page softcover release, and will retail for $20. This is definitely a book to look forward to!
