Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village Arc Hits Toonami Soon

Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village Arc

A date has been set for the Toonami debut of Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village Arc. The season before the most recent one—which was the Hashira Training Arc—will officially make its way to Adult Swim’s anime block on Saturday, August 10.

The announcement came via Aniplex USA’s San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday.

First announced back in February 2022, the Swordsmith Village Arc anime premiered with an hour-long special in April 2023. The anime streamed on Crunchyroll alongside its broadcast in Japan.

Demon Slayer, which began as a manga series by Koyoharu Gotouge, has been one of the most successful anime and manga franchises in recent memory. Crunchyroll is also streaming the earlier seasons of the anime TV series, and gave this description for the overall story:

Demon Slayer Plot

It is the Taisho Period in Japan. Tanjiro, a kindhearted boy who sells charcoal for a living, finds his family slaughtered by a demon. To make matters worse, his younger sister Nezuko, the sole survivor, has been transformed into a demon herself.

Though devastated by this grim reality, Tanjiro resolves to become a “demon slayer” so that he can turn his sister back into a human, and kill the demon that massacred his family.

Next up for the anime adaptation is the Infinity Castle movie trilogy, which will close it out on the big screen.
