Back in April, a TV anime adaptation was revealed for Rin Asano’s Deaimon manga, which tells the tale of Nagomu Irino as he moves back to Kyoto after a decade to take over his family’s confectionery shop, only to discover he now has to be a father figure to Itsuka Yukihara, who has been named the shop’s successor. At the time we didn’t have much info to go on, but today marked the debut of the first visual along with the announcement of 2022 broadcast plans.
The voice cast includes Nobunaga Shimazaki (Yuki Soma in Fruits Basket) as Nagomu Irino and Kozue Yuki as Itsuka Yukihara, both pictured below.
Here’s the full visual:
The Deaimon anime is being directed by Fumitoshi Oizaki (Romeo x Juliet), with Reiko Yoshida (Violet Evergarden) on scripts and Sakae Shibuya (Girl Friend Site) as character designer and animation director at production house Encourage Films.
Stay tuned for more on the anime adaptation on September 18 at a panel at the Kyoto International Manga and Anime Fair.
