The manga Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction (that’s a lot of Ds) is getting an anime movie adaptation that will be released in two parts. The first movie will hit Japanese theaters on March 22, and the second one will follow on April 19. Ahead of this a clip has dropped that concentrates on the characters Kadode and Ontan.
The films are being produced by Production +h., with Tomoyuki Kurokawa of Psychic Detective Yakumo helming the projects as director. The person in charge of the scripts is Reiko Yoshida, whose credits include A Silent Voice and Violet Evergarden. Music is being composed by Taro Umebayashi of Yuri!!! on Ice.
Looking toward the cast, Lilas Ikuta plays Kadode Koyama, ano plays Ontan, Atsumi Tanezaki plays Kiho Kurihara, Miyuri Shimabukuro plays Ai Demoto, Saeko Ooki plays Rin Hirama, Azumi Waki plays Futaba Takemoto, Ryoko Shiraishi plays Makoto Tainuma, Miyu Irino plays Keita Ōba, Kōki Uchiyama plays Kenichi Kohiruimaki, Taito Ban plays Naoki Watarase, Junichi Suwabe plays Hiroshi Nakagawa, Kenjiro Tsuda plays Nobuo Koyama, Tomokazu Sugita plays Isobeyan, and TARAKO plays Debeko.
Each movie has a different theme song. The first movie’s theme song is titled “Zett-Zett-Zett-Zett- Zettai Seiiki” (translated as “Abababab Absolute Sanctuary”) and performed by ano feat. Lilas Ikuta.
Meanwhile, the second movie’s theme song is called “Seishun Ōka” (translated as “Adolescence Hymn”) and it’s performed by Lilas Ikuta feat. ano, so it flips the setup of the performers.
VIZ Media publishes the original manga by Inio Asano and gave this description for the first volume:
The end of the world really sucks—rogue AI, foreign occupation, constant firefights between freedom fighters and terrorists, sudden death raining from above. How do you even begin to start over in the middle of all that? Maybe you can’t. Maybe you just have to reset. This is the end!
