The manga Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction is getting a two-part anime movie, and then the two-part anime movie is also getting its own anime series. It will consist of 18 episodes, and it will include new footage, so it’s not just the movies being spliced up into shorter segments. Crunchyroll will start streaming the series this Thursday. The streaming service also offered up this subtitled trailer with the news.
The show’s theme song is “Zett-Zett-Zett-Zett- Zettai Seiiki” (translated by Abababab Absolute Sanctuary) which is performed by ano and features Lilas Ikuta. It’s the same theme song from the first movie.
The first movie came out in March, and the second will hit Japanese theaters this Friday.
Looking at the cast, Lilas Ikuta plays Kadode Koyama, ano plays Ouran “Ontan” Nakagawa, Atsumi Tanezaki plays Kiho Kurihara, Miyuri Shimabukuro plays Ai Demoto, Saeko Ooki plays Rin Hirama, Azumi Waki plays Futaba Takemoto, Ryoko Shiraishi plays Makoto Tainuma, Miyu Irino plays Keita Ōba, Kōki Uchiyama plays Kenichi Kohiruimaki, Taito Ban plays Naoki Watarase, Junichi Suwabe plays Hiroshi Nakagawa, Kenjiro Tsuda plays Nobuo Koyama, Tomokazu Sugita plays Isobeyan, TARAKO played Debeko, Chiharu Sawashiro plays Ojiro-senpai, Saori Ōnishi plays Hikari Sumaru, Kenichirō Matsuda plays Takarada, Kengo Kawanishi plays Tarō Miura, and Masafumi Kobatake plays Ogino.
VIZ Media has published all twelve volumes of the original manga by Inio Asano. It gave this description for the first volume:
