In the CUE! smartphone game, you get to act as a manager for a voice-acting agency and work with sixteen women who want to be voice actresses. The game is getting an anime adaptation that will debut on January 7, and in the meantime a trailer has been released to let us get to know the characters Miharu Yomine, Mahoro Miyaji, Aya Kamuro and Riko Hinakura a little better.
Looking to the cast, Yurina Uchiyama plays Haruna Mutsuishi, Nene Hieda plays Maika Takatori, Kyōka Moriya plays Shiho Kano, Yuna Ogata plays Honoka Tsukii, Ayaka Takamura plays Yūki Tendō, Satsuki Miyahara plays Chisa Akagawa, Mayu Iizuka plays Airi Eniwa, Manatsu Murakami plays Yuzuha Kujō, Yukari Anzai plays Miharu Yomine, Saki Matsuda plays Aya Kamuro, Megumi Yamaguchi plays Mahoro Miyaji, Arisa Tsuruno plays Riko Hinakura, Hina Tachibana plays Rie Maruyama, Ami Komine plays Satori Utsugi, Mai Satō plays Rinne Myōjin, and Rio Tsuchiya plays Mei Tōmi.
The anime is being made at Yumeta Company and Graphinica, with Shin Katagai of Re:Stage! Dream Days working as the director. The task of supervising series scripts goes to Tatsuhiko Urahata, and character design falls to Motohiro Taniguchi, with the characters being based on original designs by Shiso. There is also the job of sub-character designer, and that falls to Rie Nishimura. The music is being done at Pony Canyon and APDREAM, with Ryosuke Nakanishi as the composer. Nakanishi previously worked on High School DxD and Kuroko’s Basketball.
The original game came out in 2019, being made available for iOS and Android devices. The game is currently on a hiatus, as the company chose to take it down in spring of this year, saying they would “put forth every effort to improve the game” before bringing it back. In spite of the hiatus with the game, the anime is moving full speed ahead.
