Crunchyroll to Stream Stan Lee Anime The Reflection

Crunchyroll will simulcast The Reflection, a series masterminded by legendary comics creator Stan Lee, it was announced at Sakura Con Saturday.

The Reflection, a collaboration between Stan Lee and director Hiroshi Nagahama (Detroit Metal City, The Flowers of Evil), is, as one might expect from the mind of Lee, a story of people who possess superpowers. The short description from Studio DEEN, who are animating the series, reads:

After THE REFLECTION, some of the people in all parts of the world are discovered with super powers.
Some become heroes, and others villains.
How did The Reflection happen? What was the cause of it?
With many unsolved mysteries, the world is lead into turmoil.

The idol group 9nine will appear in the series as superheroes and perform the series’ ending theme.

In an interview with Otaku USA and other outlets at Sakura Con, Nagahama described the world-building that has gone into the series, describing its world as as large as that of the Marvel comic universe.

The series will begin airing and streaming on Crunchyroll this July.
