Fans the world over are finally having their most intense of wishes granted. Well, okay, not entirely, but Square Enix is proving that they haven’t forgotten one of their most beloved franchises by confirming the planned release of Chrono Trigger on Nintendo DS.
Sure, it’s not a full-fledged followup (I don’t want to hear from any of you wild Chrono Cross haters, okay?), but we’ve gotten some nice treats thus far with the portable rereleases of Square’s classic RPGs, so I doubt anyone will be complaining. This rings doubly true in a cruel world where fans are fooled into paying obscene amounts of money for the original boxed cart, and where (now understandably) downloading the title on Virtual Console isn’t a reality.
Look for more info as it arrives, but you can bet there are going to be some extras sprinkled in the release, at least judging from their recent track record.
