Can’t Wait for These Fall Anime? Start Reading the Manga!

aThe fall anime season is filled with manga adaptations!

Manga has long been a prime source for anime adaptations, and the fall anime season is no different. While light novel adaptations are dominating a lot of the landscape, there are also several titles you can read in manga form before their anime begins!

From newer titles to a vintage series getting a new adaptation, check out this trio of manga with anime treatments incoming. Start reading and be ready for the autumn season!

365 Days to the Wedding

365 Days tot he Wedding

The fall anime season is bringing the romance with 365 Days to the Wedding. Premiering in October, this adorable rom-com leans into one of everyone’s favorite tropes: fake dating. Or rather, fake engagement! Travel agency employees Takuya and Rika both want to escape a transfer to Russia. Fortunately, there’s an out: only unmarried employees will be considered for the job. All they have to do is get engaged and stay engaged until the transfer is handled.

Seven Seas Entertainment has published three volumes so far, with three more set to release over the coming months. This is one we personally think warrants picking up the physical editions, incidentally. Each volume shows Takuya and Rika dressed in traditional wedding ensembles from around the world!

A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School!

A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul Shcool

Prefer to fill your fall anime watchlist with horrors? Join rookie teacher Haruaki Abe on his most terrifying job yet! A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School! follows the scaredy-cat sensei as he takes over a class of monsters. And we don’t just mean badly-behaved students… like literal monsters. Considering he can’t even handle normal human students, how will he fare?

The original manga by Mai Tanaka is already 14 volumes deep, and you can pick them up from Yen Press. Volume 15 is scheduled to be released in September, so keep an eye out if this one strikes your fancy!

Ranma 1/2

Ranma 1/2

Rumiko Takahashi will grace the fall anime season as yet another of her classics gets a remake! Ranma 1/2 is getting a colorful new adaptation courtesy of MAPPA, with many original cast members returning. While lots of us may immediately think of the original anime, this vintage rom-com started as a manga. And it’s easier to read than ever!

Viz Manga has released a 2-in-1 Edition, combining two volumes into a single book at a time. But if you’re a Viz manga app subscriber, you can read the whole thing right from your smartphone or web browser!
