Bikkurimen Anime Based on Lotte Chocolate Premieres This Fall

There’s nothing sweeter than anime based on sweets, and that’s precisely what Bikkurimen is. Taking its lead from Lotte’s Bikkuriman line of chocolates, the Bikkurimen TV anime is an original project that’s officially set to premiere in Japan this fall.

A teaser visual arrived along with some of the main staff members.

Based on an original concept by Lotte, the anime has Tomohiro Tsukimisato (How Clumsy you are, Miss Ueno) directing, with Yuniko Ayana (BanG Dream!) on series composition, Hiroyuki Takei (Shaman King) on original character designs and Ayano Owada (How Clumsy you are, Miss Ueno) adapting those character designs for animation. Yasuhiro Misawa is on music for the Lesprit production.

The story is set in a world in which Bikkuriman stickers are so coveted they’re treated like a high-value currency, and the above-pictured Yamato joins the fight for the stickets.
