From the Monogatari series to Pretty Boy Detective Club and beyond, author Nishio Ishin—stylized as NISIOISIN—has transformed the Japanese pop culture landscape in some unique ways over the past two decades. To mark the amazing 20th anniversary milestone of Nishio Ishin’s many works, publisher Kodansha shared a video looking back at his series while also looking ahead to the future.
Attack on Titan‘s Eren VA Yuki Kaji narrates the whitepuzzle-produced video, for which Nishio Ishin wrote the script.
In addition to celebrating the past, the video reveals that Nishio Ishin is working on a new series titled Kaito Flaneur no Junkai (Phantom Thief Flaneur’s Patrol), which is set to hit shelves in Japan on September 7 with illustrations by TAKOLEGS. There’s also a new Zaregoto book on the way, which will be the first full novel for the series since 2005.
