A Decent Glimpse of Takashi Miike’s Yatterman
What, is it teaser week or something over here at Otaku USA? Hey, we don’t choose when the good ones make an appearance, so enjoy this brief burst of visual news while it lasts! The video in question this time is a promo for Takashi Miike’s live-action adaptation of the 1977 anime classic Yatterman, originally created by Tatsunoko Productions as the second show in the Time Bokan series.
Being the jack of all trades that he is, Miike looks like he’s having a lot of fun with this one. It may be slathered in CG, but the mix of classic theme music and the light-hearted atmosphere still seem to give it a bit of an old school edge. I personally can’t wait to see more.
