Celebrate Valentine’s Day Ghibli Style with Jiji and Lily Dessert

Valentine’s Day is 10 days away, and couples who are Ghibli fans can find a great date spot at Shirohige’s Cream Puff Factory. Tokyo’s Shirohige’s Cream Puff Factory is a bakery dedicated to Ghibli, and it’s made a special Jiji and Lily dessert just for the holiday.

The feline characters come from Kiki’s Delivery Service. To make them real in food form, the dish first has a layer of chocolate pudding covered by berry mousse. The kitties consist of sweet bean paste and mochi flour, and they’re made by hand into their cat shapes. The couple also comes in a special Ghibli-themed cup.

Meanwhile, the regular Totoro cream puffs are receiving a Valentine’s Day makeover and will look like this for the holiday.

Rounding out the Valentine’s Day desserts are these Totoro and Heart cookie set and Catbus Chocolate Sandwich Cookie.

All of these desserts are going to be available for limited times. As there’s more than one location of Shirohige’s Cream Puff Factory, people will need to check availability in each store, and it’s recommended you make reservations so you don’t show up and find that they’re all out of the dessert you wanted.

GKIDS licensed Kiki’s Delivery Service and gave this description for its plot:

Kiki’s Delivery Service Plot

Celebrate this beloved coming-of-age story from the legendary Studio Ghibli, creators of Spirited Away, and Academy Award®-winning director Hayao Miyazaki, about a resourceful young witch who uses her broom to create a delivery service, only to lose her gift of flight in a moment of self-doubt.

It is a tradition for all young witches to leave their families on the night of a full moon and fly off into the wide world to learn their craft. When that night comes for Kiki, she embarks on her new journey with her sarcastic black cat, Jiji, landing the next morning in a seaside village, where her unique skills make her an instant sensation. Don’t miss this delightfully imaginative and timeless story of a young girl finding her way in the world, featuring the voices of Kirsten Dunst, Janeane Garofalo, Phil Hartman, and Debbie Reynolds.
