Here’s a nice piece of Halloween news: Paul W.S. Anderson, the director behind films like Event Horizon, Mortal Kombat and the Resident Evil series, is set to bring the arcade horror shooter The House of the Dead to the big screen.
Production is expected to kick off in mid to late 2025. The film will be based on the third game in the series. That series, which is produced by Sega, first launched in arcades in 1997. The most recent game is 2022’s The House of the Dead: Remake. The games have already inspired two live-action films, which came out in 2003 and 2005, respectively.
Good stuff, good stuff, but when is a director going to step up and create a film version of The Typing of the Dead?
