Crunchyroll Rolls Out Its Halloween Offerings on AVOD, Store Sale

chainsaw man anime

It’s October, which means a lot more Halloween-related things will be rolling out. Crunchyroll is doing a few things for the holiday, including making some of its horror titles more easily available.

For starters, Crunchyroll is offering an additional 20 horror anime titles on their AVOD library for a month. In other words, you don’t need a Crunchyroll membership to watch them, and they’ll be played with ads. Here are the titles in question:

  • Angels of Death
  • Another
  • Attack on Titan
  • Berserk
  • Blood Blockade Battlefront
  • Chainsaw Man
  • Danganronpa: The Animation
  • Devil May Cry
  • Hell’s Paradise
  • Hellsing Ultimate
  • Higurashi: When They Cry
  • Junji Ito Collection
  • Mieruko-Chan
  • Overlord
  • Soul Eater
  • The Case Study of Vanitas
  • The Future Diary
  • The Promised Neverland
  • Tokyo Ghoul
  • X

Crunchyroll says all of the seasons of the above mentioned shows will be available. However, the availability during October does not stretch to any OVAs or movies in the franchises. It also noted that availability might be different depending on where you live.

The 24/7 Anime Channel from Crunchyroll (available through Amazon Freevee, Roku Channel, Pluto TV, and others) will be getting into the Halloween spirit later this month. Beginning at noon on October 28 (PST) and through November 1, the channel will be concentrating on horror anime. Crunchyroll specifically listed The Vampire Dies in No Time, Soul Eater and Devil May Cry as examples.

The online Crunchyroll Store is offering a “Shop Spooky Sale.” Besides some obvious horror anime and manga titles, it also offers up clothes (like hoodies inspired by Junji Ito’s Tomie), figurines (such as characters from Higurashi: When They Cry) and Funko POP! Tokyo Ghoul characters. At most you can expect to get 40% off, though different items have different percentages off in the sale. There are more than 200 different items involved.
