Uzumaki Original Soundtrack Gets Digital Release

Uzumaki

Did you catch the first episode of the critically acclaimed Uzumaki anime over the weekend? If you were into the music, there’s some good news for you — the Uzumaki original soundtrack is available digitally through Milan Records. You can find it here.

The soundtrack was composed by Colin Stetson, who has also composed for The Menu, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Hereditary. Speaking about working on the project, Stetson remarked, “I absolutely adored my time making this music and inhabiting the strange, gorgeous, horrifying, and spectacular spiral world that Ito-Sensei created.”

This is the first time Steson, who is a Grammy winner, has been involved with an anime’s music.

Here is the track listing for Uzumaki’s official soundtrack:

1. Uzumaki

2. Join me in the spiral

3. The eye follows the pattern

4. Obsession

5. For a split second, the drifting smoke

6. Kirie and Shuichi

7. Ruins Alive

8. The Labyrinth

9. Eerily in the dark

10. Hey! Are you trying to escape?!

11. The Eternal Spiral

12. Twisted souls

13. Medusa

Uzumaki, which is based on the manga by Junji Ito and brought to us by Adult Swim and Production IG USA, was hit with a number of delays over the years. Now that it’s finally coming out, it will consist of four episodes.

VIZ Media publishes the original Uzumaki manga by Ito as a 3-in-1 deluxe edition, and gave this description for its plot:

Uzumaki Summary

Kurouzu-cho, a small fogbound town on the coast of Japan, is cursed. According to Shuichi Saito, the withdrawn boyfriend of teenager Kirie Goshima, their town is haunted not by a person or being but a pattern: UZUMAKI, the spiral—the hypnotic secret shape of the world. The bizarre masterpiece horror manga is now available all in a single volume. Fall into a whirlpool of terror!
