Re:ZERO season 3 just had its extended first episode start screening in Japan on August 30, and now we know when the new season will hit TV in Japan. As revealed during the weekend’s MF Bunko J Summer School Festival 2024 event, Re:ZERO season 3 is set to premiere in Japan on October 2, 2024.
The new season will run for 16 episodes, with the “Attack Arc” running for the first 8, followed by the “Counterattack Arc” in the final eight starting on February 5, 2025. You can see a new trailer below, followed by an additional cast member and their respective character visual.

The new cast addition is Aoi Yuki (Tanya in Saga of Tanya the Evil), who voices Capella Emerada Lugunica, pictured below.
The season’s first episode is “Gekijō-gata Akui” (translated as “Theatrical Malice”) and will be a longer than average 90 minutes long. Kadokawa will be playing the start of the season in Japanese theaters for a couple of weeks, beginning on August 30. Crunchyroll screened the first episode on July 5 at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, as part of its large offering of panels and premieres. Likewise, when the season starts in October, Crunchyroll will be streaming Re:ZERO season 3 simultaneously with its Japanese release. It already has previous seasons and OVAs streaming on its platform.
