Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World Season 2 recently started airing, but now it’s about to end its run just as swiftly. The fifth episode was scheduled to air this Wednesday, but that’s no longer the case. Instead, they will air select episodes of the first season in the remaining time slots, thus delaying the remainder of the second episode indefinitely.
According to the announcement, the delay was put in place to “maintain the quality” of the series. There’s no date for future episodes at the time of this writing, and the upcoming Blu-ray release has also been delayed.
Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World season 2 has Yuki Inaba (KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World) directing at Studio Palette and SILVER LINK, the former of which is also credited with series composition. Character designs are being handled by Kaori Yoshikawa and Elements Garden is composing music.
Crunchyroll currently streams the new season.
Yen Press publishes the original Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World light novel series—written by Kei Sazane and featuring illustrations by Ao Nekonabe—in English. Here’s the official synopsis:

This age-old battle sets the scene for a fateful encounter between two young combatants: an imperial swordsman, Iska, and the witch princess, Aliceliese. As sworn enemies, they vow to cut each other down in order to unite their worlds, and yet Iska finds himself entranced by her beauty and righteousness, while Aliceliese is moved by his strength and resolve.
