Seirei Gensouki – Spirit Chronicles season 2 will be here in October. Ahead of this a new visual was shared, plus additional cast info and the performers of the opening and closing songs.
For starters, here’s the visual for season two:
As for the newly disclosed cast, Ayahi Takagaki plays Aria Govemess, Haruka Tomatsu plays Satsuki Sumeragi, Seiro Ogino plays Gustave Huguenot, and Kosuke Toriumi plays Lucius Orgueille. Actors from the first season will reprise their roles.
The opening theme song for season 2 is called “Auftakt” and performed by Aguri Ōnishi, while the ending theme song is titled “Shuntaika” and performed by Nanaka Suwa. It’s possible the official spelling could change. Since no trailer was released with this news, we’ll still have to wait before hearing the songs.
The new season of Seirei Gensouki – Spirit Chronicles is being directed by Hiroshi Kubo, replacing original director Osamu Yamasaki. Yamasaki is still around but will take on the role of supervisor, as well as being a script co-writer with Mitsutaka Hirota, Megumu Sasano, and Yoshiko Nakamura.
Seirei Gensouki – Spirit Chronicles started out as a light novel series by Yuri Kitayama and Riv. It also has a manga adaptation from Futago Minaduki. You can get either version in English from J-Novel Club, which gave this description for the story:
Seirei Gensouki – Spirit Chronicles Plot
Meet Rio: a callous orphaned boy living in the slums. At only 7-years-old, he realizes he’s actually the reincarnation of Haruto Amakawa, a Japanese university student with a tragic past. While still reeling from this shocking epiphany, Rio also comes to learn that he possesses extremely potent magical abilities and uses his new powers to solve the kidnapping case of a little girl. His good deed is acknowledged, and he’s rewarded by being enrolled into… a prestigious academy for noble children…?
