The Anime Lineup Press Conference this week took the opportunity to share that the second season of BLUE LOCK will start on October 5. In addition to that, it shared two new actors: Satoshi Hino plays Oliver Aiku, and Akihisa Wakayama plays Shūto Sendō. This image was also posted on social media.

It had previously been revealed that Eiji Mikami plays Yo Hiori and Kakeru Hatano plays Nijiro Nanase.
The first season, which consisted of 24 episodes, debuted in 2022. It’s available to watch on Crunchyroll both subbed and dubbed.
Also part of the franchise is the movie BLUE LOCK -Episode Nagi-, which came out earlier this year in Japan. How it will do in America has yet to be seen, as it’s scheduled to hit the big screen here on June 28. The movie is based on the spin-off manga of the same name, which hasn’t yet been published in America yet, but will be soon.
Kodansha USA Publishing comes out with the original manga by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yūsuke Nomura, and it gave this description for the plot:
After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s team struggles to regroup. But what’s missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win. The Japan Football Union is hell-bent on creating a striker who hungers for goals and thirsts for victory, and who can be the decisive instrument in turning around a losing match…and to do so, they’ve gathered 300 of Japan’s best and brightest youth players. Who will emerge to lead the team…and will they be able to out-muscle and out-ego everyone who stands in their way?
The original manga started in the pages of Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2018. At 2021’s 45th annual Manga Awards from Kodansha, it took home the prize for Best Shonen Manga award.
