Thanks to some reveals by Kadokawa, there’s new information available about the upcoming anime No Longer Allowed In Another World (a.k.a. Isekai Shikkaku in Japanese). For starters, the series will debut on July 9, though people at Anime Expo in Los Angeles have an opportunity to watch a screening of the first episode five days earlier, on July 4.
Kadokawa also said that the opening theme song will be performed by Kashitaro Ito, and the ending theme song will be performed by Mayu Maeshima.
There’s also this visual that Kadokawa shared.
On top of that, there’s a YouTube show called “Melos no Daibōken” (translated as “Melos’ Great Adventure”) that stars mascot character Melos. The very first episode, which is a little under a minute and a half long, is titled “Seisaku Genjō Kengaku” (translated as “A Tour of the Production Location”) and is already uploaded. No Longer Allowed In Another World is being made at Atelier Pontdarc, with Shigeki Kawai, who has past experience with isekai from Uncle From Another World, helming the project as director. The scripts are being penned by Yasuhiro Nakanishi of Kaguya-sama: Love is War and My Love Story With Yamada-kun at Lv999.
Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the original manga by Hiroshi Noda and Takahiro Wakamatsu and gave this description for its plot:
A second life in another world with cute girls by your side and video gamey powers–sounds like a dream, right? Not so for a certain melancholy author, who would quite literally rather drop dead. Honestly, all the fantastical adventure is just getting in the way of his poetic dream of finding the perfect place to die. But no matter how much he risks his hide, everything seems to keep turning out okay. Will our terminally depressed hero find a new lease on life in this cheerfully bleak isekai comedy?
