HIDIVE is on a roll! Yesterday there was news that it had nabbed the rights to stream the anime 2.5 Dimensional Seduction, and now it’s revealed it will additionally be offering the upcoming anime Dungeon People (a.k.a. Dungeon no Naka no Hito in Japanese).
The show starts in Japan on July 5, and people at Anime Expo can catch a screening of the first episode there on July 6 at 5:45 PM PST.
In terms of cast, Sayaka Senbongi plays Clay, Sayumi Suzushiro plays Belle, Naomi Kusumi plays Rangado, Nobuo Tobita plays the Old Master, Hochu Ohtsuka plays Renfringe, and M.A.O plays Furin. (Keep in mind it’s possible the spelling of character names can change in the future.)
The anime is being made at OLM, with Sayaka Yamai of Fantasy Bishojo Juniku Ojisan to helming the project as director. The person supervising scripts is Toshimitsu Takeuchi, who is known for working on Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold. Credit for character design goes to Hiromi Nakayama, who has worked on ODDTAXI and Odd Taxi: In the Woods. The music is being composed by both Pieru and LASTorder.
The original manga by Sui Hutami is being published in America by Seven Seas Entertainment. The publisher gave this description for the plot:
Clay was trained by her father to be an expert member of the thieves’ guild. Since her father disappeared three years ago, she’s been using her skills to search for him in a dungeon filled with goblins, a Minotaur, and all manner of other dangerous creatures. When Clay reaches deeper than anyone ever has before, she meets the caretaker of the dungeon. To her surprise, Clay is invited to join the staff! And thus begins Clay’s new job–to learn the inner workings and behind-the-scenes secrets of the dungeon from the inside.
