Tower of God’s second season is all set to premiere in July, and over the weekend’s IGN Fan Fest, a teaser for the new season was released. It’s not your regular teaser, though, as it opens with a subtitled introduction from Taichi Ichikawa, who plays lead character Bam.
“It’s been roughly four years since season one,” Ichikawa notes. “Thank you for your patience.”
He goes on to talk about his character, and gives a bit of a recap of the previous season.
“Like the fans, I’m excited to see what happens in season two,” he continues. “Season two begins with the Return of the Prince arc, which takes place six years after the events of season one.”
He talks about voicing another character, gives some more teases about the upcoming plot, and finally invites us to enjoy the preview, which contains no dialogue but plenty of action.
The first season of Tower of God was made at Telecom Animation Film, with Takashi Sano of Sengoku Basara: End of Judgement helming the project as director. The music was composed by Kevin Penkin, whose credits include Made in Abyss and The Rising of The Shield Hero.
The new season will be streamed by Crunchyroll for many parts of the world. Besides North America, it will stream for audiences in Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS territories. Crunchyroll gave this description of the plot:
Reach the top, and everything will be yours. At the top of the tower exists everything in this world, and all of it can be yours. You can become a god. This is the story of the beginning and the end of Rachel, the girl who climbed the tower so she could see the stars, and Bam, the boy who needed nothing but her.
