Ghibli Park officially threw open its doors last year, but not all of the park was completed at the time. The section known as Mononoke Village is set to open on November 1, and the section known as Valley of Witches is supposed to start welcoming visitors in spring 2024. With the Mononoke section almost ready, Japanese news outlets like The Mainichi Shimbun released some videos that include looks at the Okkoto slide, the large Tatari Gami statue, making gohei mochi to eat, and fluffy plush Studio Ghibli merchandise.
If that food is making you hungry, Ghibli Park will give you the option of making your own gohei mochi or having someone at the park make it for you.
We’re also still waiting for the Catbus buses to guide people around the area, but those won’t be around until March 2024, around the same time that Valley of the Witches officially opens.
