The light novel series An Archdemon’s Dilemma – How to Love Your Elf Bride is getting an anime adaptation that’s scheduled to come out sometime next year. A trailer has dropped that includes info on the cast and crew.
The anime is being made at Brains Base, with Hiroshi Ishiodori of RIN-NE 3 and Kiss Him, Not Me helming the project as director. The person overseeing the series scripts is Aya Yoshinaga, who is known for working on Crest of the Stars. The person tasked with character design is Mina Ōsawa, whose previous credits include Given and The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest. The soundtrack is being composed by Yuma Yamaguchi of Metallic Rouge and Undead Murder Farce. The animation is being supervised by Keiji Gotoh, who is known for working on In/Spectre and Kiddy Grade.
Looking toward the announced cast, Yūsuke Kobayashi plays Zagan, and Kana Ichinose plays Nephy.
J-Novel Club publishes the original light novels by Fuminori Teshima and gave this description for the plot:
Zagan is a super powerful sorcerer, but lives as a recluse. And now he faces his greatest test… falling in love!
Zagan is feared by the masses as an evil sorcerer. Both socially awkward and foulmouthed, he spends his days studying sorcery while beating down any trespassers within his domain. One day he’s invited to a dark auction, and what he finds there is an elven slave girl of peerless beauty, Nephy. Having fallen in love at first sight, Zagan uses up his entire fortune to purchase her, but being a poor conversationalist, he has no idea how to properly interact with her. Thus, the awkward cohabitation of a sorcerer who has no idea how to convey his love and his slave who yearns for her master but has no idea how to appeal to him begins.
