Last month we finally got a return date for the NieR:Automata Ver1.1 anime, which previously delayed episodes 9-12 due to COVID-19 related circumstances. With the final volley of episodes set to premiere in Japan on July 23, a new trailer has arrived to set the stage for the dramatic set of chapters based on the hit game by Yoko Taro and Square Enix.
All four upcoming episodes will air on the same day with the official website noting that episodes 9, 10, 11 and 12 will debut on Tokyo MX starting at 7:00pm on July 23.
Ryouji Masuyama is directing the NieR: Automata Ver1.1a anime, which is being produced by A-1 Pictures (Sword Art Online) and is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
Synopsis:
The distant future, 5012.
The sudden aerial invasion of Earth by <Aliens> and their creations <Machine Lifeforms> led mankind to the brink of extinction.
