Following up on yesterday’s news about the theme song, a new full Sword Art Online Progressive trailer is here, delivering a two-minute preview and a sample of LiSA’s theme song, “Yuke” (“Go”). Check out the latest footage ahead of the film’s October 30 premiere in Japan below.
LiSA commented on her new theme:
It’s been about 10 years since I was in charge of the opening theme for the “Aincrad” arc with the song “crossing field”. And this time, I feel like I’ve touched the reason for Asuna’s true beauty and strength in “Progressive.” She was not strong from the beginning. After overcoming betrayal, sorrow, anxiety, and conflicts, she became a delicate, supple woman with a core of strength and beauty. Ayase-san (who composes the music) entrusted me with a melody suitable for singing such Asuna’s heart. Even if the world continues to change, I hope that we can continue to run straight and strong, just like her. Go, me, go!
LiSA’s single is slated to hit stores in Japan on October 15. The full soundtrack, featuring 47 songs composed by Yuki Kajiura, will follow on October 29.
Yen Press publishes the Sword Art Online Progressive novels in English and describes them:
‘There’s no way to beat this game. The only difference is when and where you die…’ One month has passed since Akihiko Kayaba’s deadly game began, and the body count continues to rise. Two thousand players are already dead. Kirito and Asuna are two very different people, but they both desire to fight alone. Nonetheless, they find themselves drawn together to face challenges from both within and without. Given that the entire virtual world they now live in has been created as a deathtrap, the surviving players of Sword Art Online are starting to get desperate, and desperation makes them dangerous to loners like Kirito and Asuna. As it becomes clear that solitude equals suicide, will the two be able to overcome their differences to find the strength to believe in each other, and in so doing survive? Sword Art Online: Progressive is a new version of the Sword Art Online tale that starts at the beginning of Kirito and Asuna’s epic adventure–on the very first level of the deadly world of Aincrad!
